CAMPING
Summer Camporee at
Camp Long Lake
July 3 – July 5, 2008
This camping
opportunity is at Camp Long Lake where we go for Camp Swamp Fox each
September. It is open to all scout families including parents and
siblings. Activities include: swimming, rowing, archery, BB gun shooting,
crafts and games. In addition are advancement opportunities such as Tiger
Cub Requirements, Wolf and Bear Arrow Point Electives and Belt Loops and
Webelos Activity Pins. Families may sign up for this individually
following the directions on the
2008 Summer Camporee Flyer or lets get a group of families and go
together.

Pray the Rosary
Patch Series
The Rosary Patch Series is focused on the
different Mysteries of the Holy Rosary and Pray the Rosary.
This is an opportunity for youth and adults
alike to learn more about their faith. The Rosary patch is considered a
Religious Activity and Cub Scouts will receive a patch they may apply to
their red vest upon its completion. There are a total of five patches in
the series that may be earned. Please note that this activity is not a
Religious Emblem and scouts will not receive a Religious Knot after
completing the requirements.
Please turn in your
completed activity sheets to your den leader. Patches will be awarded at monthly Pack Nights.

Trail Trekkers
- An Exciting Hiking Program Patch Series
The Trail Trekkers
Program offers a series of day hikes which can be completed by Cub Scouts
and their families. The hikes may be completed as individual families or
as a den or pack activity. These are opportunities for outdoor adventures
that are high in “boy appeal” that allow a boy and his family to learn
about the world around them; and they include a wide range of activities.
The hikes are located throughout South Eastern Wisconsin and each hike has
its own appeal. Some are more physically demanding and more appropriate
for Webelos-age boys. Others can be accomplished by any age group.
Whichever hikes you choose, please take the time to enjoy the natural
environment around you. Do some research on the plants, trees and animals
that live in the area, and find out about the geological features that are
so prevalent in our area. By knowing more about our environment, you will
get a better perspective and enhanced appreciation for how things work
together, and how important all things are to the total picture. Best of
all, you’ll get out! Keeping the “Outing in Scouting!
One of the
exciting aspects of the Trail Trekkers Program are the embroidered patches
that are awarded to all successful scouts after completing the
requirements of each hike. However, the earning of the patch should
not be the reason for completing a hike, rather a Trekkers patch should be
a memento to show that one has enjoyed a family Scouting event. When worn
on the red vest, the basic Trail Trekkers patch is surrounded by smaller
hike patches, showing an ever-growing pattern of fun. All patches must be
earned by following the directions in the Trail Trekker Program Guide.
Hikes may be completed
anytime of year. Please report completion of your hikes to your den
leader. Patches will be awarded at monthly Pack Nights.
